Meghalaya, known as “The Home of Clouds,’’ is a gem situated in the hills of Northeast India. With its lush valleys, beautiful villages, and mist-covered landscapes, it feels like stepping into a dream designed to bring peace to the soul and wonder to the eyes. What makes this place even more special are its three distinct hill regions – The Khasi Hills, The Jaintia Hills, and The Garo Hills, each with their own unique charm and story. The Khasi Hills, home to Shillong city and cascading waterfalls, offers a blend of culture and adventure. The Jaintia Hills are calmer and more mysterious, with ancient caves. Jaintia hills also contribute to the frequent cloud formation and rainfall patterns. In the Garo Hills, lush forests and flowing rivers create a deep, almost spiritual relationship with nature. Together, these hills transform Meghalaya into a land that is both peaceful and profound.
